Adele Fornarino is the new under 60kgs Grapplefest champ after claiming the belt in an action packed 15 minute match.
It has been a whirlwind for Adele the last 12 months and it is great to see the hard work continuing to pay off.
It is easy to think because of our isolation from the major jiu jitsu events (mostly taking place in the US) that winning majors is out of reach for Aussies, but this is a great example of what smart training can do. Adele has been based in WA for the last couple years where the training partners and comp scene is very limited for someone of her size and rank. Despite this she has made great technical gains and has hit every comp she can get her hands on to keep improving.
Congratulations on an epic performance Adele and the first of many belts!
