Another great day at The Gathering (Will-Machado Championship) spent with the DOMINANCE squad and our friends from the Will-Machado lineage!
This competition always has a great vibe and despite the fierce competition it’s more about celebrating our lineage and friendships, rather than our rivalries. There were smiles, handshakes and catch ups everywhere you looked.
🏆 Amongst a sea of stand out performances and memorable moments from the team, it was amazing to see Ivan Donlic receive the very special Outstanding Competitor of the Year award from John Will. This award is about much more than just being a great competitor – it is about being a positive influence in the community and an outstanding individual on and off the mat. Of which Ivan is.
This is the second year in a row that this honour has been awarded to a DOMINANCE athlete. What this tells us is not only are we getting the results on the competition mat, but that the culture we have built here at Thomastown is something that is recognised and appreciated by our peers in the Jiu Jitsu community. This is something we should all be proud of 👏
As always, a big thanks to John Will – without him many of us would not be doing jiu jitsu and the Australian jiu jitsu scene would not be what it is today.
Now it’s time to shift our focus to the biggest competition do the year – the IBJJF Pan Pacific Championship! 🔥
