I’ve worked hard for this day. It may not be gold and I may not yet be a world champion but I know I’m heading in the right direction. I’ve improved everything over the last 12 months – technically, mentally, strategically and physically. In international competition I have lost only to world champions this year. Still a little way to go but the ultimate goal is within my grasp 🥇
Comp day I felt great – focused, sharp and aggressive. I took every opportunity available to me and put away some great competitors in the process. In my weight division of 64 competitors, I won my first 4 matches (3 subs and a win by adv) and lost the semi 2-0 to a multiple time world champion. In the open weight my first two opponents chose to pull out so I went straight to the semi, losing 5-0 to double gold champion Josh Hinger.
There’s a lot of people to thank… Thank you to my Coach and business partner Dave Hart for sharing my vision and creating the opportunities for me to chase these goals. Thank you to my students and teammates Dominance MMA, there’s no other team in the world I’d rather represent.
