What a night at Fusion Fighting Championships! – Dominance MMA brought home the Heavyweight Title Belt and the Performance of the Night award after putting on an incredible show at the most prestigious professional event in Victoria.
Joshua O’Donnell went up first, taking on a late replacement after his original opponent was forced to pull out. His new opponent was a big step up in skill, weight and experience but Josh didn’t hesitate to take on the challenge! Josh opened the match up on fire, dominating the early minutes before eventually losing by decision. Despite not getting the win it really was a great performance by Josh.
Next up was Justin Robertson – making his second appearance on Fusion, again under Combat Jiu Jitsu rules. Juzzy dominated the match from the very start and sent the crowd into a frenzy with huge takedowns, elite passing and heavy strikes from the top. His relentless attacks eventually set up a great armbar submission and secured him the Performance of the Night.
In the co-main event The Thomastown General Lincoln Hancock had a battle with Nick Hughes for the No-Gi title. At times strategic and at others a leg lock battle, they both went hard at it with some great exchanges. Linc’s guard and leg attacks were too strong and he shut down Nick’s game to win on points after 7 minutes. Linc personifies getting after your goals. Winning a belt was one of few things he hadn’t done in Jiu-Jitsu. At 42 he can cross that off the list.
