PAN AMERICANS 2025
Massive congratulations to Ellen Thompson who made here real Purple Belt debut, in one of the 4 major competitions for Gi BJJ in the world and took 2nd 🥈
When we compete we all have ideas of wanting to enter in our best form, and sure we work towards it but injuries happen, illness happens, things out of our control happen. You can choose to let it stop you, or do it anyway – Ellen chose the latter.

PANS 2025 🥈
Relatively last minute decision to enter after Linc suggested to go and why not?
Prep was a little disrupted with multiple weeks off with a broken finger and getting sick twice, but you aren’t defined by one prep. This was my first official competition since getting my purple belt at the end of last year. 💜
I felt I did much better jiu jitsu this time around able to do some new things I’ve been working on and play a different style of game. Excited to head back home and work on my mistakes and keep working on improving.
Thank you to everyone for your messages and shoutout to the women in the division and the women I’ve gotten a chance to meet and train this time. Absolutely incredible humans 🙏
Massive thank you to the entire Dominance team. Everyone plays a part and has a roll and it’s a beautiful blend from the casual hobbyist to the full time competitor. Massive thank you to Lincoln , Dave and Murray for the time and energy they put into me and the team.
Thank you to Linc for helping me with comp prep, making weight, watching comp footage and providing strategies for me, debriefing after training sessions, and helping me gain some confidence and self-belief. Thank you to Dave for helping me improve so many aspects of my game, teaching me how to pull guard, life chats, and helping me with my mental health. Thank you to Murray for giving me the time off to travel and compete, work things around training, for getting the team around me, for believing in me and encouraging me. 🙏🖤
Special shoutout to Ivan Donlic – after 2 sessions he has me starting to get confident in my guard, enough so that I pull open in a major comp.
